CAS:
2,2-Dibromopropanoic acid is a reactive chemical that is used as an antimicrobial agent. It has been shown to have antibacterial activity against gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 2,2-Dibromopropanoic acid can be synthesized by reacting the primary amino compound with anhydrous sodium in ethyl acetate or petroleum ether. This reaction forms a carbonyl group and a hydroxy group that are both reactive. The carbonyl group reacts with hydroxyl groups from the amide to form an amide linkage. The hydroxy group reacts with piperazine to form a conjugate that is metal chelatable.
Purezza:Min. 95%
