(-)-Tetraciclina è un antibiotico ad ampio spettro appartenente alla classe delle tetracicline, caratterizzato dalla sua capacità di inibire la sintesi proteica batterica. È derivato dal batterio Streptomyces aureofaciens ed è noto per la sua efficacia contro un'ampia gamma di batteri gram-positivi e gram-negativi. La struttura chimica di (-)-Tetraciclina presenta un sistema a quattro anelli con più gruppi funzionali, inclusi gruppi idrossilici e dimetilamminici, che contribuiscono alla sua solubilità e attività biologica.
