It interacts with the double bonds of acrylic resin to form cross-linked polymers, thereby increasing the hardness and durability of the paint. 1-(Ethylsulfanyl)-2-[(2-ethylsulfanyl) ethyl]sulfanylethane absorbs UV light in the range of 320 - 350 nm and exhibits high optical purity.
