CAS:Zoxazolamine is a synthetic, immunosuppressive and cytotoxic agent that inhibits the enzyme activities of cytosolic Ca2+-ATPases. It has been shown to suppress antibody response in rats. Zoxazolamine also has a number of drug interactions, including inhibition of tetracycline metabolism and induction of cytochrome P450 enzymes. The experimental model for zoxazolamine is based on the T84 cell line, which is an intestinal epithelial cell line derived from human ileum. Zoxazolamine has been shown to induce toxicity in this cell line. Zoxazolamine also causes release of bile acids from rat liver microsomes and can lead to autoimmune diseases in experimental models.
