Piperacillina è un antibiotico penicillinico semisintetico che viene utilizzato principalmente per trattare una varietà di infezioni batteriche. È efficace contro un ampio spettro di batteri gram-positivi e gram-negativi, inclusa Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Piperacillina agisce inibendo la sintesi della parete cellulare batterica, portando alla lisi cellulare e alla morte.
