Maltosio, monoidrato, con il numero CAS 6363-53-7, è un disaccaride composto da due unità di glucosio collegate da un legame glicosidico α(1→4). È un solido cristallino bianco che è solubile in acqua, formando una soluzione dal sapore dolce. Il maltosio si trova comunemente in alimenti e bevande maltate, poiché viene prodotto durante la degradazione enzimatica dell'amido.
