It has been shown to have a high potency and good selectivity in inhibiting IKr. CGP55845 is being studied for use in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. The compound also has potential as an antiarrhythmic agent because it inhibits contractility, prevents ventricular fibrillation and tachycardia, and has a low incidence of proarrhythmia.
