CAS:2-Bromobenzoyl chloride (2BB) is an aromatic hydrocarbon that can be used to synthesize a variety of organic compounds. 2BB has been shown to have cytotoxic activity in vitro, but it is not yet known what the mechanism of action is. In addition, 2BB binds to DNA and RNA, and it has been used as a reagent for the synthesis of phenyl groups. The compound also reacts with copper or carbonate ions to form bromocarbenes or chlorocarbenes respectively. 2BB is also used for the Friedel-Crafts reaction, Suzuki coupling reaction, and acylation reactions.
