Descrizione:
Vanadio è un metallo di transizione con il numero atomico 23 ed è rappresentato dal simbolo V nella tavola periodica. È caratterizzato dal suo aspetto grigio argenteo ed è noto per la sua alta resistenza e resistenza alla corrosione. Vanadio presenta più stati di ossidazione, che tipicamente variano da -1 a +5, con +5 che è il più stabile e comune nei composti. Ha un punto di fusione di circa 1910°C e un punto di ebollizione di circa 3407°C, indicando la sua stabilità a temperature elevate. Vanadio si trova principalmente in natura sotto forma di vanadinite e altri minerali, ed è spesso estratto da sottoprodotti della produzione di ferro e acciaio.
