Il fluoruro di litio (LiF) è un composto inorganico caratterizzato dal suo legame ionico tra ioni di litio (Li⁺) e ioni di fluoro (F⁻). È un solido cristallino bianco che presenta alti punti di fusione e ebollizione, indicativi delle sue forti interazioni ioniche. Il LiF è altamente solubile in acqua e ha una solubilità relativamente bassa nei solventi organici. Una delle sue proprietà notevoli è la capacità di trasmettere luce ultravioletta, rendendolo utile in applicazioni ottiche. Inoltre, il fluoruro di litio ha un'alta resistenza dielettrica, il che lo rende prezioso per l'isolamento elettrico.
