It has been shown to inhibit degenerative diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa and degenerative diseases. 6,7-Dimethoxy-2-[(4-phenyl-1,2,3,6 tetrahydropyridin 1 yl)methyl]-3,4 dihydroquinazolin 4 one is also an important molecule for treating photoreceptor degeneration. Photoreceptor cells are found at the back of the eye and convert light into nerve signals that the brain can interpret. The molecule interacts with catalytic sites in these cells and modulates their activity to prevent cell death.</p>
