Cloridrato di terbinafina è un farmaco antifungino utilizzato principalmente per trattare infezioni da dermatofiti, come il piede d'atleta, la tigna e il fungo delle unghie. Appartiene alla classe degli antifungini chiamati alilamine e agisce inibendo l'enzima squalene epossidasi, che è cruciale per la sintesi dell'ergosterolo, un componente essenziale delle membrane cellulari fungine. Questa interruzione porta alla morte cellulare ed elimina efficacemente l'infezione. Cloridrato di terbinafina viene tipicamente somministrato per via orale o topica, a seconda del tipo e della gravità dell'infezione.
