Mancozeb è un fungicida ad ampio spettro ampiamente utilizzato in agricoltura per controllare varie malattie fungine nelle colture. Appartiene alla classe dei ditiocarbammati ed è caratterizzato dalla sua capacità di inibire la crescita fungina interferendo con la respirazione cellulare e l'attività enzimatica. Mancozeb è tipicamente una polvere di colore verde-giallastro solubile in acqua, rendendola adatta per l'applicazione come spray fogliare. Il suo meccanismo d'azione implica il rilascio di tiourea di etilene, che è tossica per i funghi. CAS:<p>Applications Mancozeb is a mixture of Maneb (M163500) and Zineb, a manganese and zinc (1:1) complex mixture with the ethylene bis(dithiocarbamate) anionic ligand. Mancozeb is a foliate fungicide used to protect crops in agriculture. Mancozeb has a broader and more effective fungacidal activity than either of its component on their own. Mancozeb has been shown to have minimal toxicity in vivo, with no significant effects on locomotor activity, energy metabolism, or the induction of tumors in a model system. In vitro assays have shown synergistic effects when mancozeb is combined with other antifungal agents such as copper sulfate, cyprodinil, and dichloran.
