Yonkenafil is a potent, selective inhibitor of the enzyme cGMP-specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). It is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Yonkenafil has been shown to inhibit nitric oxide synthase (NOS) activity, which may be responsible for its neuroprotective effect.
