3,4-Difluoro-N-(3-{3-methylimidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidin-2-yl}phenyl)benzamide is a potent and selective inhibitor of the voltage gated potassium channel Kv1.4 with IC50 of 0.5 nM. It has been used as a research tool for its ability to inhibit the activation of ion channels. 3,4-Difluoro-N-(3-{3-methylimidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidin-2-yl}phenyl)benzamide is also an inhibitor of protein interactions and receptor ligand binding. This compound binds to the receptor site of the voltage gated potassium channel and prevents it from opening, which results in reduced excitability of neurons.
