    <p>3-(3-Methyl-4-oxo-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-2-yl)propanoic acid (MTQPA) is a potent and selective DNA template. MTQPA binds to the cell nucleus and inhibits transcriptional regulation by binding to the dna template. It has also been shown to have apoptosis pathway activity. MTQPA is also a potential biomarker for cancer tissues and excretory organs. MTQPA can be used in wastewater treatment as an antimicrobial peptide because it has strong antimicrobial activity against Gram+ and Gram− bacteria, fungi, and protozoa.</p>
