It has been shown to inhibit the reaction mechanism of extractants (e.g., butamirate citrate) with enantiomeric compounds (e.g., creatine). It also inhibits subclinical mastitis in cows and fatty acid synthesis, leading to decreased cholesterol synthesis in humans.
