Destrano

Descrizione:
Destrano è un polisaccaride ramificato complesso composto da unità di glucosio collegate principalmente da legami glicosidici α(1→6), con legami α(1→3) occasionali. È prodotto da alcuni batteri, come Leuconostoc mesenteroides, ed è comunemente utilizzato in varie applicazioni grazie alla sua biocompatibilità e non tossicità. Destrano è solubile in acqua, formando una soluzione viscosa, ed espone un alto peso molecolare, che può variare a seconda della fonte e del metodo di produzione. Le sue proprietà includono essere un stabilizzatore, agente addensante e un mezzo per la somministrazione di farmaci in ambito farmaceutico.
