Sephadex G-25 è un gel di destrosio reticolato utilizzato principalmente in applicazioni biochimiche, in particolare per la cromatografia di esclusione per dimensione. È caratterizzato dalla sua capacità di separare le molecole in base alla dimensione, rendendolo ideale per purificare proteine, acidi nucleici e altre macromolecole. Sephadex G-25 is a high-resolution gel filtration medium that is used in biochemistry and molecular biology. It is made of crosslinked polystyrene beads that are coated with sephadex resin, which selectively binds to proteins. Sephadex G-25 has been used as a model system for studying the interactions between human basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and heparin. The bound form of bFGF was found to be present in the void volume of Sephadex G-25, suggesting that this form may be biologically active. Sephadex G-100 is a similar product that has been shown to bind nucleotides and other small molecules.
