Diethyl aniline is a colorless liquid that is soluble in organic solvents. It is used to synthesize polycarboxylic acids and as a solvent for paints, dyes, waxes, and other organic compounds. It has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of cholesterol esters by transferring one of its alkyl groups to the ester group on cholesterol.
