N-[4-Methoxy-3-(morpholine-4-sulfonyl)phenyl]-3-(1H-pyrrol-1-yl)benzamide is a potent and selective inhibitor of the α2δ subunit of voltage gated calcium channels. The compound has been shown to inhibit the neuronal release of substance P in vitro and in vivo. N-[4-Methoxy-3-(morpholine-4-sulfonyl)phenyl]-3-(1H-pyrrol-1-yl)benzamide has also been found to inhibit the release of calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP), which is implicated in migraine headaches, and 5HT from cultured neurons and astrocytes. This research tool is suitable for use as an antibody or ligand for receptor binding studies.
