Tetrahydrolipstatina, noto anche come orlistat, è un potente inibitore della lipasi utilizzato principalmente nella gestione dell'obesità. Funziona inibendo la lipasi pancreatica, un enzima responsabile della scomposizione dei grassi alimentari in acidi grassi liberi assorbibili. Questa inibizione porta a una riduzione dell'assorbimento dei grassi dal tratto gastrointestinale, promuovendo la perdita di peso.
