2H,4H,6H-Furo[3,4-c]pyrazol-6-one
CAS:2H,4H,6H-Furo[3,4-c]pyrazol-6-one is a lactone that belongs to the class of butenolides. It has been shown to be an inhibitor of bacterial growth. 2H,4H,6H-Furo[3,4-c]pyrazol-6-one hydrolyzes in acidic conditions and may form a chlorinated byproduct. 2H,4H,6H-Furo[3,4-c]pyrazol-6-one also undergoes oxidative reactions with oxygen and chlorine to form hydroxybutenolide and dihydroxybutenolide respectively.
