CAS:<p>3-Chloro-5-fluoroisonicotinaldehyde is a prostaglandin analogue that inhibits the production of prostaglandin E2. Prostaglandin E2 synthesis is initiated by the enzyme cyclooxygenase. The inhibition of this enzyme causes an increase in the concentration of arachidonic acid, which leads to an increase in the production of prostaglandin E2. 3-Chloro-5-fluoroisonicotinaldehyde has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of Cox-1 and Cox-2 enzymes. It also has low metabolic stability and low oral bioavailability.
