KAT inhibitors are a new class of compounds that have been shown to be effective in inhibiting the growth of acute myeloid leukaemia cells, with little effect on other cells. 1-Methyl-1H-indazole-5-carbaldehyde has potent inhibitory activity against human myeloid leukemia cells and does not affect the viability of normal human erythrocytes or peripheral blood mononuclear cells.
