<p>A broad-spectrum antibiotic of cephalosporin class, which inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by targeting the penicillin-binding protein, involved in peptidoglycan synthesis. This third-generation cephalosporin is very active against Pseudomonas species and can also be used to treat bacterial meningitis as it penetrates in the cerebrospinal fluid.</p>

<p>b-Apo-oxytetracycline is a tetracycline antibiotic and is used for the treatment of bacterial infections. It binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting protein synthesis.</p>

<p>Neospiramycin I is a macrolide antibiotic with action on bacterial ribosomes to inhibit protein synthesis and is used for treating bacterial infections in research applications.</p>

<p>Ceftazidime is a broad-spectrum beta-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). It is used to treat many bacteria infections including pneumonia and septicaemia. It has shown to be effective against some treatment-resistant bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa.</p>

<p>Lamivudine (commonly called 3TC) is a potent nucleoside analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitor. It is one of the front line treatments for HIV.  It is an analogue of cytidine, and can inhibit both types (1 and 2) of HIV reverse transcriptase as well as the reverse transcriptase of hepatitis B. It needs to be phosphorylated to its triphosphate form before it is active.</p>

<p>Lomefloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic with a mode of action that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. It is used for treating bacterial infections like bronchitis and urinary tract infections.</p>

Fosmidomycin sodium hydrate is an antibiotic, which is a natural product derived from Streptomyces lavendulae. This compound specifically inhibits the non-mevalonate pathway of isoprenoid biosynthesis by targeting 1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate reductoisomerase (DXR), an essential enzyme in the pathway. By disrupting this process, fosmidomycin effectively impedes the synthesis of essential isoprenoid precursors, which are crucial for the survival and proliferation of certain bacteria and parasites.

<p>Tilmicosin is a macrolide antibiotic that is used in veterinary medicine. It is used to treat bovine respiratory disease and inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of the bacteria resulting in reduced protein synthesis.</p>

<p>Saquinavir is a HIV protease inhibitor drug that is used with other antiretroviral drugs for the treatment of HIV-1. As this drug prevents HIV protease activity, it prevents the proteolysis of the Gag polyprotein and thus results in non-infectious virus particles.</p>

Amicoumacin B is a bacterial metabolite, which is derived from *Bacillus subtilis*. This compound exhibits a strong antibacterial function by targeting bacterial ribosomes, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis. As a result, it disrupts the growth and proliferation of bacterial cells, making it effective against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive bacteria.

<p>Geneticin is very efficient against gram-negative bacteria, however it is not applied for treating infections due to high renal toxicity. Geneticin and its resistance genes found application in the selection of transgenic cell lines including yeasts such as P. pastoris and S. serevisiae, other eukaryotic cell lines such as CHO or HEK293, but also plant cells and bacterial cells.</p>

<p>Dihydrostreptomycin B is an aminoglycoside antibiotic, which is derived from the bacterium Streptomyces griseus. This antibiotic operates by binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, leading to the inhibition of protein synthesis. The binding disrupts the decoding site, causing misreading of mRNA and ultimately resulting in bactericidal activity.</p>

Oritavancin diphosphate is a lipoglycopeptide antibiotic with action on bacterial cell wall synthesis and is used for treating acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections.

<p>Raltegravir is an antiretroviral agent that is used for the treatment of HIV infections. It inhibits HIV integrase in order to prevent viral genome from being inserted into the human genome. It binds to the active site of the enzyme and prevents it from binding to a target sequence on the viral DNA. This drug is metabolized by glucuronidation.</p>

<p>N-Boc-protected -Guanidino Oseltamivir is a fine chemical that belongs to the group of versatile building blocks. It is a complex compound that has been used in research as a reagent and speciality chemical. <p>Doxorubicin (DOX) is an antineoplastic chemotherapy drug used to treat breast, ovarian and pancreatic cancers. It is an antitumor antibiotic that inhibits DNA topoisomerase II. DOX interferes with the topoisomerase II-mediated repair of DNA causing accumulation of mutations. It also leads to the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which further damage DNA as well as proteins and membranes. However, the compound presents with a risk of developing cardiomyopathy as well as drug resistance. Pegylated liposomal doxorubicin has also been developed to treat breast and ovarian cancers, myeloma, and HIV-related Kaposi’s sarcoma.</p>

<p>Temocillin disodium is a beta-lactamase-resistant penicillin antibiotic with action on bacterial cell wall synthesis and is used for treating infections caused by multidrug-resistant gram-negative bacteria.</p>
