Dimethylglyoxime, is used as a chelating agent which forms complexes with metals such as copper, nickel, and palladium. Dimethylglyoxime reacts with a nickel salt in a green solution to generate a red colored insoluble tetradentate coordinate complex of nickel. It is used as a reagent for the colorimetric determination of urea and ureido compounds. This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio.
