Acenaphthenequinone is used in the preparation of acetylcholinesterase inhibitory agents. It is also used in the preparation of turn-on sensors for cysteine/homocysteine and its application in bioimaging. Further, it is used as an intermediate in manufacturing of dyes and pharmaceuticals.
