The 6-Fluoro-3-indoxyl-beta-D-galactopyranoside is a powerful antituberculosis drug belonging to the rifamycin class. It is highly effective in treating tuberculosis infections due to its bactericidal activity. This compound works by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, preventing transcription and replication, thus inhibiting bacterial growth.
