Descrizione:4-(Benzenesulfonyl)benzaldehyde is a styrene monomer that is functionalised with a carboxamide group. It can be used to mimic the tropane alkaloid structure, which has been shown to have therapeutic effects. 4-(Benzenesulfonyl)benzaldehyde can also be used as a polymerisation catalyst for the production of polystyrene materials. The benzenesulfonyl group on this molecule can also be used to catalyse reactions in organic chemistry. This molecule has been shown to have catalysing effects on carboxylic and monomers because of its functional groups, such as an aromatic ring, sulfonate group and benzenesulfonyl group.
