2-Chloro-4-phenylphenol is a biphenyl compound that inhibits the growth of bacteria. It has an inhibitory effect on bacteria, and it also inhibits the production of bacterial enzymes. 2-Chloro-4-phenylphenol has been shown to have antimicrobial properties in vitro assays with subtilis. This compound is also used in polymer films for the prevention of microbial invasion.
