Descrizione:Trans-2-ethoxy-5-(1-propenyl)phenol is a staining and dyeing agent that is an analog of resorcinol. It is used in cavity preparations for effervescent action. This product has a high viscosity and can be used as a polymerization inhibitor, as well as an antimicrobial agent. Trans-2-ethoxy-5-(1-propenyl)phenol has been shown to have the ability to chelate calcium ions and inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Streptococcus mutans. Trans-2-ethoxy-5-(1-propenyl)phenol also inhibits the enzyme aldehyde dehydrogenase, which converts acetaldehyde into acetic acid.
