Descrizione:Styrene is a compound that belongs to the group of glycol ethers. It is used in the production of elastomers, oil solutions, and other polymers. Styrene has been shown to be susceptible to polymerization by free radicals at high temperatures. This reaction can be initiated by an inorganic initiator or by cationic polymerization with a quaternary ammonium salt. Styrene undergoes copolymerization with monomers such as trimethylolpropane, forming low molecular weight elastomers. Irradiation can also induce polymerization, producing high molecular weight elastomers with improved mechanical properties.
