Descrizione:1-Methoxy-4-propylbenzene is a phenylephrine analog that binds to the alpha 1A receptor. It has been shown to inhibit the side-chain cleavage of phenylephrine, and it also has an increased affinity for the alpha 1A receptor. This compound is not active against cd-1 mice, which suggests that the alpha 1A receptor in this strain of mouse is insensitive to binding by this compound. The structure of 1-methoxy-4-propylbenzene includes a cavity with aryl halide groups that can be used as a template for drug design. A magnetic resonance spectroscopy study was conducted on mice and it showed that this compound does not cause liver lesions or hydroxyl group changes.
