Cycloheptadine is a drug used to treat various types of bowel disease. It is structurally similar to cyproheptadine, which can inhibit the release of serotonin and histamine from mast cells in the body. Cycloheptadine has been shown to reduce the symptoms of allergic reactions and can be used as an alternative treatment for carcinoid syndrome. This drug also binds to 5-HT2 receptors in the brain and may have some biological properties due to its ability to act on these receptors. Cycloheptadine is not associated with any side effects that are likely to cause serious harm, such as glucose injection or congestive heart failure.
