Amyl Hexanoate is a hydrogen fluoride that is used as a target pest control agent. It is commonly used in combination with diethyl succinate and caproic acid, which act as the control agents. Amyl hexanoate is used in conjunction with a solid catalyst to break down into glycol ethers. This produces carboxylates, which are hydrolyzed by hydrochloric acid to produce fatty acids. The fatty acids react with the particle surface and cause it to break apart, releasing the volatile compounds inside. Amyl hexane can be found in nepeta cataria plants.
