Supinine is a quinoline derivative that has shown carcinogenic potential in experimental models and has been found to enhance the activity of intermedine, a drug used for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia. Supinine has also been shown to be transported by the human body, with a high degree of affinity for erythrocytes. Further studies have shown that supinine inhibits the transport of glucose and amino acids across the blood-brain barrier. The clinical effects have not been studied yet.
