Descrizione:2-Tridecanone is a poison used to control insects. It is a natural substance that has been identified in the poison glands of some species of ants and bees. The chemical is chemically related to methyl ketones and tetracycline, which are also produced by these insects. 2-Tridecanone inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting protein synthesis at the transcription-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) stage. This inhibition may be due to its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis or RNA synthesis, or both. 2-Tridecanone may also have an effect on fatty acid metabolism and diethyl succinate biosynthesis.
