9,10-Dihydroanthracene is an organic molecule that has a chlorine atom and two nitrogen atoms. The molecule is a colorless solid with a melting point of -51 °C. It has been shown to have a kinetic energy transfer reaction mechanism in the presence of sodium salts. 9,10-Dihydroanthracene reacts with trifluoroacetic acid to form the salt dihydroxyfluoranthene-9,10-dione. These reactions are exothermic and increase in rate as temperature increases. 9,10-Dihydroanthracene undergoes structural analysis by X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy.
