Descrizione:Pentadecyl acetate is a glycol ether that is used as an organic solvent in the synthesis of butyric acid. Pentadecyl acetate is also used as a frictional lubricant, and has been shown to be thermally stable. It has a low viscosity, which makes it useful for use as a solvent in gel permeation chromatography. This compound is colorless with a sweet odor and can be synthesized from hexadecyl alcohol and propionic acid. Pentadecyl acetate does not dissolve in water and is only slightly soluble in ethanol, ethers, or chloroform.
