- Hexadec-1-Yne
1-Hexadecyne is a synthetic monolayer that is used in the synthesis of fatty acids. This molecule consists of a six-carbon chain with an amide group at one end and a carboxylic acid group at the other. The hexadecyl amide has been shown to be chemically stable and can be activated by electron donors like ethene or acetylene. 1-Hexadecyne has been shown to have high vibrational frequencies, which are associated with biochemical activity. The chemical compositions of this molecule include an amide group, two carboxylic acid groups, and 16 carbon atoms. Tautomeric forms of this molecule exist as a result of the hydrogen bonding between its carboxyl groups and amide groups. The tautomeric form changes from the cis to trans configuration due to rotation around the C-C bond connecting the two ester groups.
