It has been shown to be effective in the inhibition of population growth of bacteria and fungi. o-Isopropylaniline is mainly used in industrial settings, such as water treatment and oil production, where it prevents corrosion of metal surfaces. In addition, it is an important intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds such as anilines, amines, and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
