Descrizione:7-Tridecanol is a homologous fatty acid, which is a type of lipid that consists of three long chain hydrocarbons. It is biodegradable and has been shown to have structural isomers. 7-Tridecanol has been shown to be an effective anti-cancer agent in vivo, particularly against mouse melanoma. The mechanism of action of 7-tridecanol is not known, but it may inhibit carboxylate groups or reversibly form acetyl derivatives with the cell membrane. This compound also inhibits the activity of primers by competitively binding to DNA at the 3' position during the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) process.
