Benzyl morpholine-4-carboxylate is an ester of morpholine and benzoic acid. It is a good solvent for amines, alcohols, and sulfonamides. Benzyl morpholine-4-carboxylate can be used as a catalyst in the synthesis of aliphatic amines. The catalytic activity of this compound was found to be higher than that of either DBU or DBN in the reaction with ethylamine.
