• Descrizione: Trans,trans-2,4-decadienal is a caffeic acid derivative that is found in many types of food. It has been shown to have toxic effects on the mitochondria and DNA of cells. Trans,trans-2,4-decadienal inhibits mitochondrial membrane potential by reacting with nitrogen atoms in the mitochondria. This reaction may be due to its ability to induce reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. Trans,trans-2,4-decadienal also has genotoxic effects and can cause atherosclerotic lesions by inducing ROS production in macrophages. It can also inhibit autophagy in some cell lines. Trans,trans-2,4-Decadienal is used as an analytical method for polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs).
