NSP-805 is a calcium antagonist with inotropic and vasodilatory properties. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of congestive heart failure, which is characterized by low cardiac output and high blood pressure. NSP-805 relaxes vascular smooth muscle cells, leading to vasodilation, and it can also prevent the formation of excessive amounts of phosphodiesterase. The drug is used at clinical doses for a limited time period to reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke.
