(-)-Acylfulvene is an analog of the natural product xylan, which has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells. It is a potent inhibitor of protein kinases and has demonstrated anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo. (-)-Acylfulvene has been found to be effective against a wide range of human cancers, including tumors of the breast, lung, colon, and prostate.
