Descrizione:Dansyl-L-isoleucine is a fluorescent probe that reacts with the amino acid methionine and specifically labels the proteins in neurons. It has been used to study neuronal function, such as synaptic transmission, in both animals and humans. The fluorescence intensity of this probe can be quantified by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis and it is often used for quantitative measurement of protein synthesis. Dansyl-L-isoleucine has been shown to have a negative correlation with heart disease risk factors such as plasma triglycerides and cholesterol levels. This drug also has been found to inhibit the production of certain metabolic products including prostaglandin E2, which may be responsible for its anti-inflammatory effects.
