ETYA is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that binds to the angiotensin II type 1 receptor. It has been shown to prevent the activation of the angiotensin system, which is responsible for vasoconstriction and other pathogenic mechanisms. ETYA has been shown to have a protective effect against infectious diseases in vivo, including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Salmonella typhimurium, and Listeria monocytogenes. ETYA has also shown efficacy as a treatment for granule neuron disease (GND) in CD-1 mice by inhibiting arachidonic acid metabolism and preventing calcium release from intracellular stores. ETYA is also able to inhibit cyclase and protease activities in vitro.
