Descrizione:Nickel(III) oxide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula NiO. It is a black solid that is insoluble in water and stable in air. Nickel oxide can be used as a catalyst for wastewater treatment, with its high chemical stability and low toxicity. Nickel oxide has been used as a model system for studying the mechanism of polymerase chain reactions (PCR). The reaction mechanism of nickel oxide involves the formation of polymers on the surface of nickel oxide through hydrolysis. These polymers are then amplified by DNA polymerase to form more polymers, which eventually form a visible layer on the surface of nickel oxide. Nickel oxide also has potential use as a biomarker because it can be detected by light emission, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and x-ray diffraction data.
